Goodbye Novemeber

It's officially the last day of November and fall (in my mind). What's a better way to usher out fall than with a good late harvest Riesling? Hogue has a this, super cheap, bottle that I can't get enough of.

I asked Alex to pour me a glass and this is what I got:

Sprained Ankle

Saturday oh what a day... I had a very long Saturday, as I mentioned a few days ago there were some injuries obtained at the Duck's game. I sprained my ankle. I apologize I normally don't like to post shoe-less feet but my curiosity with the body/injured things won over my dislike of feet pictures.

T-Rex

This completely made my day.

Civil War!

For those of you whom are not from the Pacific Northwest: Every year the Oregon Ducks and Beavers go head to head at the civil war. The Ducks have been the reigning champs and this year was no exception! Today I traveled down to Eugene and watched the game. Although it was not the most thrilling game (the Ducks slaughtered the Beavers) the experience was fantastic minus a few injuries.

 Auzten Stadium.
The game was ridiculously packed.

Broken Computer

I took my computer in to be serviced on Black Friday. I didn't do any shopping yet I thought it was a great idea to get my computer and camera serviced.... what was I thinking? Oh that's right, I was thinking I'm a perpetual procrastinator and I always somehow manage to wait until the last possible second before getting things done. Anyhow the wait was quite long but at least the Geek Squad employee was very helpful. (I always secretly find myself referring to the Geek Squad as the Nerd Herd, thanks Chuck!) Anyway after almost 2 hours I successfully turned over my camera and computer to be fixed. So for the next 3 weeks, yes, three weeks, I will be computer-less. Thus my posts will be sporadic but I'll try to keep up.

BodyPump

One of the classes I'm taking to get back into tip top shape is called BodyPump. Les Mills is the creator of this insanely challenging class. The class focuses on (mainly) using a barbell loaded with weights to help you tone and build muscle. With each set you do about 100 reps. It's ridiculous but a great way to burn 500 cals in 60 minutes and get a combo cardio/weight workout.

Tonight I went to my favorite instructor's class and decided it was time to increase my weights (you're encouraged to do this every couple of weeks). I about died, like dead. My instructor kept saying "When you don't think you can give anymore is when you really start to build. This is where we change our bodies, come on just one more set. (Even though there were four more sets.) I love having someone looking at you and encouraging you to do more. That or she seriously has it out for me! ;)

I do love these posters though:

Chocolate Eclairs

Some days it is really hard to be health conscious... In the place where I work I am the only female and the seemingly also the only one that goes to the gym regularly/tries to eat a somewhat balanced diet. It is days like this that I falter and succumb to temptation. Dang sales reps!

The Lost Has Been Found

About 2 months ago I misplaced my glasses, ok so I thought I completely lost them. I had just given up hope of never seeing properly again. And then today, glorious day, I has the divine inspiration to bring my computer to study at Starbucks and low and behold my glasses were in the front pocket of my computer bag. I will be rocking these glorious Bebe frames everyday for quite a while.

OMSI Bodyworlds

OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) is currently showing the Bodyworlds exhibit and today my lovely friend Brittany and I had the opportunity to go. Bodyworlds exhibits human bodies that have gone through the process of plastination. These bodies are mostly skinless and are posed in ways for you to seem muscles, organs, and bones. It is a very interesting exhibit if you are not squeamish.

Afterward we went to Bula Kava a great Hawaiian cafe. They are located on the East side of Division, a great place for any group or a lunch date with a girl friend.

Did I mention how gorgeous it was today?

Bula Kava. I love the lighting.

Kava: a bitter root based drink that has calming or energizing effects on the drinker.

Flown in from Oahu this treat was literally a sin. I will be purchasing this pie for the holidays.

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
