Tonight I went with Alex to his army Christmas party. We sat with some of the most senior ranked officers and they were lovely to talk to. There was dinner, a raffle, a silent auction and a bid action. Alex ended up bidding on an Extra Rare bottle of Crowl Royal that they were auctioning off for an army charity. (The Waterloo distillery burned down in 1992, leaving only a small amount of whiskey left, hence the extra rare label.) He won the bid as well as two wine baskets. After the event concluded our table went to the hotel bar and told stories, shared pictures and talked about the Occupy Portland movement.
The night was definitely a success.
